What's under the Cherokee's hood?
There are three engine options available for the Cherokee, and each has varying degrees of power. The first few trims come with a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine capable of producing 180 horsepower and 171 lb-ft of torque. Connecting to this engine is a nine-speed automatic transmission. When you reach the Latitude Lux, trim you are greeted with two options. The first is a 3.2-liter V6 that pounds out 271 horsepower and 239 lb-ft of torque, and the second is a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder that creates 270 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. Both of these engines also pair with the nine-speed automatic. Most Cherokee's come standard with front-wheel-drive with the option of four-wheel-drive. On the Trailhawk, four-wheel-drive comes standard.
What are some of the Cherokee's features?
Five main trim levels are available for the 2021 Cherokee, and all of them have a ton of available features. The Latitude starts things off with power front windows, exterior mirrors with a heating element, supplemental turn signals, courtesy lamps, a rearview camera, and a 7-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Moving up to the Latitude Plus adds more fun features such as heated front seats, premium-wrapped heated steering wheel, remote start, keyless entry, and push-button start. There are several options available for the Latitude Plus, including dual-zone climate control, a power liftgate, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror. New this year to the Cherokee lineup is the Latitude Lux, which provides luxury features such as Nappa leather seats, power front seats with power lumbar adjuster, and a windshield wiper de-icer. Need a trim with a ton of off-road features? The Trailhawk has you covered with an advanced all-wheel-drive system, wider wheels and all-terrain tires, and increased ground clearance. Rounding out the trim lineup is the Limited, which adds leather upholstery, an upgraded driver display in the gauge cluster, and an 8.4-inch touchscreen.
