2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee L Power & Handling
Standard under the hood of all Grand Cherokee L models is a 3.6L V6 engine with 290 horsepower, 257 lb-ft of torque, and a maximum towing capacity of 6,200 lbs when properly equipped. The available 5.7L V8 engine increases these numbers to 357 horsepower, 390 lb-ft of torque, and up to 7,200 lbs of towing capacity. The Grand Cherokee L separates itself from the pack with its all-terrain capability. Three of Jeep's most capable drivetrains, Quadra-Trac I, Quadra-Trac II, and Quadra-Drive II, are available to the entire Grand Cherokee L lineup. The single-speed transfer case of Quadra-Trac I provides a 48% front and 52% rear axle torque split for optimal all-weather control. The two-speed transfer case employed by Quadra-Trac II and Quadra-Drive II will automatically send up to 100% of available torque from the engine to the axle with the most traction when slippage is detected. Quadra-Drive II provides the most control and capability with an electronic limited-slip rear differential.
2021 Chevrolet Traverse Power & Handling
While the Grand Cherokee L offers two engines, the Chevy only offers one for the Traverse. Standard for the 2021 Chevy Traverse is a 310-horsepower 3.6L V6 with 266 lb-ft of torque. When equipped properly with a towing package, the Traverse can haul up to 5,000 pounds. The engine is mated to a 9-speed automatic and a front-wheel drivetrain. All-wheel drive is optional on all trim levels besides the entry-level L trim and the top-level High Country. This is because the L trim is not eligible for AWD, while it comes standard on the High Country trim.
2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee L Features & Design
The Grand Cherokee L follows an exterior design that reminds us of Jeep's long-running history as an American icon. While the front end is reminiscent of a classic design, the Grand Cherokee L grasps Jeep's forward-thinking with standard premium LED lighting, power-adjustable heated side mirrors with turn signals, trapezoidal wheel arches, carefully crafted 18-inch alloy wheels, rain-sensing wipers, and more. The Grand Cherokee L features large windows, giving all occupants a wide-angle view of the outside world. Inside, you'll find standard features like three-zone automatic climate control, new slim air vents, an 8.4-inch infotainment touchscreen, wireless Apple/Android integration, a 10.25-inch digital gauge cluster, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, power-adjustable front seats, heated front seats, and much more. Higher trim levels upgrade to a 10.1-inch touchscreen, a single or dual-pane sunroof, 20 or 21-inch alloy wheels, a hands-free power liftgate, heated/ventilated front seats with massagers, power-adjustable second-row seats, heated second-row seats, and much more. In addition, all trim levels include a full suite of high-tech driver assists.
2021 Chevrolet Traverse Features & Design
The Chevy Traverse features the signature pointed front end with narrow headlight housings with LED daytime running lights on either side of the grille. Other exterior features include 18-inch alloy wheels, body-color door handles, heated power side mirrors, and dual-outlet exhaust. The Traverse's interior includes a 7-inch infotainment touchscreen, smartphone integration, six USB ports, a 3.5-inch driver information center, a urethane steering wheel, and three-zone automatic climate control. Besides a backup camera, the Traverse comes with no standard driver assists. Higher trim levels include available features like heated first and second-row seats, leather upholstery, an 8-inch touchscreen, a 4.2-inch driver information display, a power liftgate, and a power sunroof. Higher trims are also eligible for driver assists like lane departure warning, blindspot monitoring, automatic emergency braking, and adaptive cruise control, all of which come standard on the Grand Cherokee L.
