Intro to the 2022 Dodge Charger

The lineup for the 2022 Dodge Challenger features a wide variety of trim levels that start out strong, and only get stronger as you move up the list! The first two models are the SXT and the GT. These are unique in that they offer optional all-wheel drive as an additional option besides the standard rear-wheel drive. These are followed by the R/T, and the Scat Pack. Lastly, the lineup is rounded out by the ultra-powerful SRT Hellcat, and SRT Hellcat Redeye. The Scat Pack, Hellcat, and Hellcat Redeye, aside from being the most powerful options in the bunch, also offer a Widebody package, which features a frame that’s 3.5 inches than the standard model, as well as Pirelli performance tires for extra grip.

For the many different trim levels listed above, you naturally need lots of engine options to take each one to the next level! The SXT and GT models both feature a 3.5-liter Pentastar V6 engine which delivers 292 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. All the following engines are V8s, starting with the R/T and its 5.7-liter V8 producing 370 horsepower and 395 lb-ft of torque. Up next is the Scat Pack, which kicks things up a notch with a 6.4-liter V8, commonly known as the 392 due to its volume of 392 cubic inches. This engine supplies the Scat Pack with 485 horsepower and 475 lb-ft of torque. The final two trim levels, the SRT Hellcat and the SRT Hellcat Redeye use similar versions of the supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI V8. The Hellcat has an incredible 717 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque, bested only by the Hellcat Redeye’s high-ouput engine variation rated at a scorching 797 horsepower and 707 lb-ft of torque, making it the quickest, fastest, and most powerful four-door sedan.

The Dodge Charger is not only powerful, but it’s also just plain fun to drive! Some of the features you’ll find on the Charger include standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. You can access these music apps and more using either a 7-inch or 8.4-inch infotainment touchscreen. It also offers keyless entry and ignition with remote start, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. There are also over 70 safety features available for the Charger, like adaptive cruise control, full-speed forward collision warning, active lane management with lane-keeping assist, and many more. New for the 2022 model year, there’s also an available deluxe security alarm system, which comes standard with the Scat Pack, SRT Hellcat, and SRT Hellcat Redeye.

There are a wealth of different features that help the Dodge Charger perform its very best, and achieve all its incredible capabilities! Some of these include Race Cooldown, a system that uses a radiator fan to help cool the engine post-race, even after the engine’s been shut off. There’s also Torque Reserve, which helps deliver an extra reserve of torque to the engine, and quickly accelerates the Charger from a standstill. There are also The Launch Control, Launch Assist, and Line Lock features, all of which optimize your straight-line acceleration. Launch Control will help reduce slippage between the tires and the road, Launch Assist will modulate the torque delivered to the engine to maintain consistent traction, and Line Lock will activate the brakes to allow the rear wheels to spin freely before you accelerate, creating awesome burnouts!
